Once I go to a chiropractor, will I always have to go?

No, our goal is to keep you in alignment as long as possible and we tend to see patients far less than most traditional chiropractors. The longer you can stay aligned between adjustments the better. That doesn’t mean a new accident, injury, or extenuating circumstances (acute trauma, damaged ligaments, etc) won’t cause you to need to be adjusted in the future, but our goal remains to keep you aligned and seeing us a little as possible to achieve the best results

Does a chiropractic adjustment hurt?

No, our orthospinology adjustments are very gentle with no twisting, cracking, or popping of the spine

Can chiropractic cure everything?

No, chiropractic care can fix or improve things that are coming from the spine directly or indirectly. However, some things will cause a patient symptoms but we cannot correct them (i.e. vitamin deficiencies, genetic disorders, lead poisoning etc)

Why would I have my newborn or young child adjusted?

The birth process can be traumatic and cause a misalignment in a child in the same way as an adult. Children tend to hold their alignments much longer than adults once corrected.

Can chiropractic help with colic and how?

Chiropractic can help with a variety of GI issues. The vagus nerve originates in the brainstem/upper cervical spine and controls the intestines. If the nerves are not functioning correctly, you may end up with dysfunction in the bowels.

Does insurance cover chiropractic visits?

Insurance coverage will be dependent on the patient’s specific coverage and deductible. We do all the billing/coding documentation for the patient to submit.

How much does it cost?

There is no charge for the consultation. We need to make sure it’s a chiropractic case and you need to make sure this is the type of care you’re looking for. Our care is unique and may not be for everyone. When you take advantage of our New Patient Special offer, we will answer any questions you have and you can decide if you’d like to proceed. Future care is dependant upon the patient’s specific case but we provide many options from care plans to pay per visit and we leave that up to the patient to decide what best fits their needs while still providing our recommendations for the best results.

Do I need a referral from my physician?

No, a referral is not needed, unless stipulated by your insurance company.

Do you work with medical doctors?

We often coordinate with medical doctors. There are problems that can be out of our scope and we will make sure the patient is directed to the right place for those situations.

Will I get adjusted on my first visit?

Whether you get adjusted on the first visit or the second depends on the case. While it is an option, Dr. Berner will sometimes take extra time to review additional MRI’s, CT scans etc. We see many difficult or unusual cases and do not want to rush. In certain cases Dr. Berner may ask the patient to grab coffee or lunch and return after all the records have been reviewed and analyzed.

Will you suggest exercises or other things I can do?

We provide a comprehensive list of instructions for patients following their 1st adjustment.

Can someone who has had back surgery see a chiropractor?

Yes. Our care is very specific and is very gentle. It might be best to avoid twisting, cracking, popping type adjustments in areas of previous surgery. The good news is we do not do those types of adjustments so it will not be of concern.
