Neck Pain
The knot in your neck that never seems to go away.
If you have a tight, aching knot in your neck that returns no matter how much you stretch, massage, or rest, it can be exhausting and discouraging. Persistent neck tension is often more than a muscle problem — the muscles are frequently responding to something happening underneath them.
Why The Top Of The Neck Matters
At the very top of your spine sits the craniocervical junction, where your skull balances on the first two vertebrae. This area is responsible for a remarkable amount of your head’s movement and balance. When these top bones shift even slightly out of their ideal position, the surrounding muscles can tighten and stay tense in an effort to stabilize your head. That ongoing guarding is often felt as a knot that simply won’t release.
Our Approach
Rather than chasing the tight muscle, we use specialized testing and imaging to determine whether the craniocervical junction is contributing to your pain. If it is, we deliver a precise, gentle correction designed to restore better alignment at the top of the spine. Many patients find that when this foundation is addressed, the surrounding muscles can finally relax on their own.
Wondering if your symptoms could be connected to your upper neck? We’re happy to talk with you and determine whether our specialized testing is a good next step.
